True Unity

True Unity

Unity as mentioned in John 17:21, what is it really? Is it what we think? Is it really Christians coming together and agreeing instead of bickering and fighting?

The answer is yes, and much more.

We must remember the Bible is a Hebrew book. It is a book written by Jews and about Jews. It is about God first and foremost – but the Bible is not a classic of American Literature. It’s not even American or English in nature for that matter. As much as we might like to think so – it’s not.

Unity really is about the Body of Christ. What is the Body of Christ? We have to start tearing down and question everything we think we believe. We must remember that God’s chosen people are the Jews. I have news for the American Church. We aren’t God’s original Chosen/Set Apart people. It’s not about us as a super-power in the world.

The Body of Christ is made up of those who worship God in Truth and in Spirit. And primarily the Body of Christ is the marriage between Jew and Gentile (everyone who is not Jewish) believers in Jesus. That’s the Body of Christ. (Study Ephesians 2 and John 10)

Unity therefore will start at the grassroots of people in each “group” coming together and then the two groups coming together. It ultimately goes all the way down to the individual level. I have to be unified with the Holy Spirit, and then united to those around me in the Spirit. They need to be unified in Spirit to those around them and so on and so forth.

I believe the restoration of the Tabernacle of David is the marriage between Jew and Gentile believers in worship; with the primary purpose of preparing for Christ’s return. David recaptured the Ark of Presence (Ark = God’s presence) from the Philistines (Foreigners, satan) and brought it back to his people (the Jews.)

They rejected God’s presence by ignorance, veiled eyes, and the mishandling His presence. So the Ark went into the hands of the “servants of the Gentiles” or said differently Gentile servants.

After David understood (gained revelation of the proper way to approach God, which in New Testament times could be seen as Jews coming to the light of Jesus as Messiah) how to handle the Ark, he brought it in once again to the Jews. He then gave plans for a permanent dwelling for God’s presence to His seed (the next generation.) The next generation built the dwelling and God’s presence filled the temple. This seems to be a pattern with the Jews. He always gives the current generation the chance and sometimes it takes that generation and their wickedness (or bloodshed in David's case) to die off so the promise can be passed on and carried out by the next generation.

I believe that is what it means for the Tabernacle of David to be restored. God’s glory is coming back. The Jews are going to understand yet again how to approach God. This time they won’t miss their time of visitation. This is something the Gentiles have already had for centuries. The Gentiles need to know to bring Jesus to the Jews. The Jews need to see Jesus as their messiah. When that happens the marriage between the two “sheepfolds” occurs.

What will be different this time is that 1) the Jews and Gentiles will be worshipping the same living God together and 2) it will be a permanent dwelling of God’s glory. This is the end of the age – time – epoch – era. The glory will not depart this time. He will be here to stay.

That is Unity; Jews and Gentiles worshipping the one true and Living God together forever. And the place unity happens is in praise, worship, intercession, and communion. I believe service is in there too. That’s what unity is. That’s what the restoration of the Tabernacle of David is about.

I will provide a more in depth study on the Tabernacle of David later. I’m not finished with it yet. I only have the framework so far (and that is up to 9 pages!) Its’ very exciting and interesting though.

In Christ,

Kelli
